The 2009 Pan American Badminton Championships are over and Canada has emerged the winner, losing only one match the entire tournament. In the semi-finals Canada defeated Mexico 3-0 and Peru beat Brazil 3-2. The final team match saw Canada win 3-0 over Peru. A proud day for Canadian badminton fans no doubt. While Denmark is playing host to the Denmark Super Series, across the pond Mexico is hosting the Pan Am Championships. Play is set to begin later today with the team event kicking things off first. Canada and the United States are the two strong favourites for the team event title. Unfortunately the draw software doesn’t show us individual matches, so we don’t know who is playing who specifically, but we can see the groups and what the result of the group ties are.
