The 11th Super Series event of the year goes back to Asia after a brief visit to Europe earlier in the month. Lin Dan returned to the French Super Series at his frightening best but has pulled out before the Men’s Singles. He was seeded 2 for the event.

Lee Chong Wei is top seed for the event. Peter Gade, Chen Jin and Taufik Hidayat make up the top 5 seeds. The Women’s Singles has four Chinese seeds, Wang Lin (Seeded 1), Wang Yihan (3), Jiang Yanjiao (6) and world champion Lu Lan (7). Tine Rasmussen (4) and Pi Hongyan (6) are the lone European seeds in the Women’s Singles.

Lee and Lee are top seeds in the Mixed Doubles, with Ma and Zheng seeded 2 for the event. World Champions Laybourn and Rytter Juhl are 4th seeds for the event.

The Men’s Singles event has been slightly devalued with Lin Dan’s withdrawal, however the potential rematch between Gade and Jorgensen could happen in the second round again after the draw could have met in the French Super Series also, Jorgensen plays Andrew Smith of England whilst Peter Gade will meet a qualifier in Round 1.

Chen Long and Park Sung Hwan is another fantastic opening round match to look out for. Qualification has begun, with the qualifiers to be completed the opening round of all three doubles events taking place on Tuesday, with play beginning at 8.30 local time.
