This is a fan report from one of our readers. Tommy Bun from Indonesia is currently attending the Djarum Indonesia Super Series.

The qualification rounds of the Indonesia Super Series are over, and the strongest players of the day have made their way through to the main draw where their opponents await them. However, in spite of home court advantage, no Indonesians made it through the qualifying rounds in the mens singles draw. Hayom Rumbaka, Yunus Alamsyah and Tommy Sugiarto all failed to book a place in the main draw.

In womens singles the young Singaporean Fu Ming Tian, who played very well at last week’s Sinapore Super Series by beating Lu Lan, didn’t perform quite as well as she struggled to beat her opponents in the qualifying round this week.

Controversy surrounded the mixed doubles match between Moh Tazari/Wong Pei Ty and Lee Sheng Mu/Chien Yu Chin. After splitting the first two sets the match headed in to extra points in the final set after some exciting badminton. As the Malaysian’s lead 23-22 Tazari hit a smash that appeared to be wide to the line judge, however the umpire overruled the call, and in spite of the Taiwanese pair’s protests, the call stood, and the match was over.

Stay tuned for results from the main draw
