To the surprise of nobody, China has won the gold medal at the 2008 World Junior Badminton Championships. China defeated Korea 3-1 in the final after defeating Malaysia 3-0 in the semi-finals. Malaysia then narrowly defeated India in the bronze medal play-off, winning 3-2. Elsewhere in the other placement play offs there were some surprises. Thailand took fifth while Indonesia had to settle for seventh, and Canada took tenth by beating Singapore 3-0!! That’s a surprise for sure, even India didn’t beat Singapore 3-0.
